The mountains around Steamboat Springs are famous for their cold winters, dry powder and world class skiing. These same mountains also make the perfect location for equally impressive biking, hiking, and horseback riding once the snow melts. The large expanses of public land on this map offer large, varied trail networks, opportunities for quite solitude and the chance for a true backcountry experience.

Each of the 18 mountain bike rides, 11 road bike rides, 12 hikes, 7 equestrian rides, and 9 winter routes described on this map were researched, hiked or ridden by Routt County Riders, Steamboat’s local trail advocacy group. The descriptions and detailed, overall view provided by the map will help you to plan the perfect day of riding or hiking and get home safely. The waterproof material won’t wear-out at the seams and can withstand the elements as well as an accidental soaking from your water bottle.

All of our maps are now available for use on smart phones and tablet. From within the free PDF Map Reader App (see QR links on the right side of page), you can purchase and download electronic versions of our maps. The beauty of this App is that once the maps are loaded onto your device you don’t need cell or wi-fi service to use the maps and their built-in GPS functionality. Even if you do have a good map, accidents can happen. For this reason, a portion of net proceeds from the sale of these map files will be donated to local search and rescue organizations.
